Decisions that used to be committee decisions become yours alone, and to your surprise you like it.
To get there you must release the habit of waiting to be chosen. The second chair is comfortable, and you are excellent in it, and it is no longer your seat. You will also have to let go of consensus as a safety blanket; some of your best later calls will be unpopular in the room where you make them.
When it comes online it feels like impatience with your own deference. The shadow to watch is brittleness — standing alone hardening into standing apart. Keep people close on purpose.
