This is a planting year, and it sets the tone for the nine that follow. What you begin now you will still be living inside of in 2033, so choose the seed deliberately rather than grabbing whatever is nearest. Start the thing that has your name on it: the business, the move, the degree, the version of yourself you have been describing to friends for two years. Refuse anything that is mainly someone else's project wearing your labour, and refuse the loyalty errands that belong to the year you just closed.
Early in the year you may feel jumpy and slightly unsatisfied without a clear target; that restlessness is fuel arriving before the map does. Use the first months to strip commitments rather than add them. By midyear a specific direction usually declares itself and asks for a real first step, signed and dated. The last stretch is for defending the young thing from well-meaning interference, and for tolerating how small it still looks.
The classic mistake is waiting. People spend a 1 year researching, polling friends, refining a plan, and step onto the ladder in December with nothing built. A second version of the same error is starting five things so no single one can fail. Pick one. Begin it badly. A 1 year rewards motion far more than it rewards precision.
